Could you survive a month in poverty?

Consider joining us for a Poverty Simulation.

Thursday, April 13th
3:30-6:30 pm
AAHS Gymnasium

Additional details will be provided via e-mail prior to the event.

Approximately 8% of Douglas County residents live in poverty every day. Many more have incomes above the poverty line, but still struggle to make ends meet on a daily basis.

The Poverty Simulation provides participants with the opportunity to assume the role of a low-income family member living on a limited budget. The experience is divided into four short periods, each of which represents one week in which you must provide for your family and maintain your home.

This Poverty Simulation will be facilitated by United Way of Douglas & Pope Counties in partnership with the the Alexandria Area High School Student United Way.
