Here at United Way we kicked off October by opening our doors to donations of warm winter gear. Coats, hats, gloves, snowpants and boots of all sizes were collected. Several businesses helped to amplify our efforts by making a collection box available at their workplace; allowing employees a quick and easy drop off location. We closed our collection on October 13th to start working on sorting, sizing and organizing items to be distributed.
On October 19th we opened our office to the community. Welcoming 204 families who were in need of warm winter wear. Over the next two weeks we provided 555 coats, 208 snowpants, and 142 pairs of boots to residents of Douglas & Pope Counties.
It is an honor for us to be able to share your donated items with someone who needs them. We're passing on to you the countless thank you's received this year on behalf of those who received warm winter wear. THANK YOU!
