United Way Announces New Name Reflecting Regional Merger
ALEXANDRIA, MN - United Way of Douglas & Pope Counties and United Way of Otter Tail & Wadena Counties have officially merged and will now operate as Lakes and Prairie United Way.
This new identity reflects the organization's expanded reach and unified commitment to serve a five-county region in Minnesota, including Douglas, Otter Tail, Pope, Todd and Wadena counties.
“This merger allows us to better utilize shared resources, streamline operations, and increase our impact across the region,” said Jen Jabas, Executive Director of Lakes and Prairie United Way. “We’re excited about the opportunities this creates to serve more individuals and families through stronger, more connected programming.”
The organization will continue to focus on community-driven solutions in the areas of financial stability, youth opportunity, healthy communities, and community resiliency, now with expanded capacity and collaboration.
